About Maria Sabina Native of the town Huautla de Jiménez, in the mountain range of Oaxaca, Mexico, this mazatec healer practiced the videncia and the medicine, singing during long ceremonies, mixing the pre-Hispanic knowledge with the influence of the catholic religion. A humble person, she led a simple life every day. She grew corn and beans in her land and did not charge for her services to her patients, she let her patients to decide how much to pay.
